Friday Afternoon
There is so much to do in order to make this work for more than just the IT geeks like me.
Languages perspective
I feel overwhelmed with the possibilities to bring back to the classroom and use in foreign language classes. I need the time!
blogging for reflection
Great for students to use blogs to share their worries about major assignments and for the teacher to be able to help with just in time interventiion
Web two for you too!
The world of Web two awaits, we are unaware of the cyberworld until it suddenly appears.
Bike Rides
Recently I rode from Hornsby to Arcadia to Berowra and then Cowan. Finally I returned to Hornsby - exhausted.

Blog Talk Reloaded and Blogging Conferences
Hi all,
There is a great conference coming up in October. A pity it is overseas.
Here is a draft program.
I went to the one in Australia in May 2005 called Blog Talk Downunder.
Also in Sydney we have an ICT Integrators Conference next week at North Sydney and I am looking forward to listening to and meeting Stephen Downes who is the keynote speaker.
Here is a draft program. Fortunately, I am doing a workshop after Steven's. So I will get to see him twice.
cheers Martin

Linked to UK

Hi all,
I just noticed this blog has been linked to a UK blog on Geography. For those who come to this site the main Geography material is here in the GTANSW webpage.
Thanks for linking to us.
The picture is from a high rise at Main Beach just north of Surfers Paradise.

Hi ICT Integrators

Hi all,
I am pleased many of you were positive about the idea of blogging. When I have presented to subject area groups the responses are different.
On the right hand side is the Dashboard. If you click this and put in the username and password you can make a post. I mentioned the username and password when I spoke. Email me if you need it again: mpluss@optusnet.com.au
Just have a go at offering a comment on your thoughts about blogging. You don't have to leave your name if you don't feel comfortable. Once you have done this on the same page you can create your own blog.
It is worth having a go.
cheers

Using a blog for fieldwork
Hi all,
First of all you can get the students to get a copy of the syllabus and create a podcast to guide them through the process of fieldwork.
For example here is a podcast on the Research Action Plan (1mb file)
On Monday I went for a walk to Appletree Bay thinking about how to approach this for you. I took a few photos so you can upload them on the blog in the same way I would be getting students to upload them.
Here are the photos to use.
Cheers Martin
